As we enter Q3 of 2023 in a year that has proven to be a very interesting one in terms of the rand and significant economic impacts, in yet South African remain resilient and property investments along the Western Seaboard of Cape Town remain sound!   As the Big Bay Property Specialists who deal both in the rental and sales market, we took a look at a bird's eye view on some interesting statistics from the latest Light Stone reporting as at the end of August 2023.  

DID YOU KNOW?  Big Bay has 725 Freehold properties of which the following are relevant stats: 

  • Properties SOLD in 2023 (Year to date) = 30
  • Average Selling Price: R 5,350,000
  • Average Year-to-date year on year value growth % = +14% 

These statistics give us some insights into the real estate market in Big Bay in August 2023. The average selling price of properties is relatively high, and the market has seen a positive growth of 14% year-to-date, indicating that property values have appreciated during this time period.

We then looked at the reasons Big Bay remains attractive to prospective buyers, which in turn with a demand for these properties creates a sound property investment for Homeowners alike.  Key factors include: 

  • Safety and Security: The presence of a state-of-the-art security infrastructure, including Fiber optic networks, heat- seeking cameras, 24/7 guards, and patrols, provides residents with a high level of safety and peace of mind. This is especially attractive for families and individuals who prioritize security.
